  6. I think the speaker is the poet/ neighbour of the girl,who is now an adult woman living in town

    I think the speaker in the poem is the poet himself. Because the woman doesn't speak in the poem. She might have narrated the incident to the poet earlier, and it's the poet who tells us the incident. He says "she asked her father...."So the speaker in the poem is the poet,as the girl doesn't speak in the poem.

  8. It is seen "The Poet" as answer in SCERT's question pool booklet. So, it seems better to keep aside all other arguments and students stick upon the same answer.

    what will we do if there are two nouns which have equal importance in the sentence?
